We’ve had forms in from 16 PS4 and 21 Xbox players. There are only 4 people who said they wouldn’t pay to join a tournament for a cash prize – they are all Xbox players.
So given the overwhelming majority wanting a paid tournament, that’s what we will do. One for Xbox and one for PS4.
The next step is for Players to sign up and pay their £10 entry fee. We don’t have a dedicated system for this so we are going to use our already tried and tested payment system that we have been using for our raffles.
Please head to this link and make your payment for entry to the tournament as soon as possible.
Once we see how many people actually enter the tournament we can define the structure of it. We want to run some form of league followed by a knockout stage to define the Champion (similar to the World Cup format).
The prize money will be 90% of the entry fees which will work out to around £140-150 if everyone who has said they want to enter a paid tournament actually enters.
The remaining 10% of the entry fee will go to Gridiron Hub.
Those of you who have experience in streaming, we will figure out what is feasible in terms of getting you to stream your games.
If this goes well, we will look to running more and building a dedicated section of our website for league tables, profiles, results and fixtures. We really like the idea of running a league alongside the Britball league with players from each club representing their side but we need to walk before we run.
Please feel free to ask any questions in this thread.
