In a surprise announcement, the Browns have signed star-pass rusher Myles Garrett to a 5-year, $125 million contract!
Just an hour after we get news of a massive extension for Chris Jones, in comes news of a Myles Garrett deal. The deal is not official as of yet but it is very close and expected to happen in the next 24 hours. Garrett will be the Browns for another five years for a total cost of $125 million, that’s $25 million per year and the top of the defensive end market.
The deal isn’t as rich in terms of average annual salary as it first seems because of the remaining years on Garrett’s rookie deal. However, this is still a massive amount of money for the Browns former No. 1 overall pick. Garrett faced controversy after whacking Mason Rudolph in the head with his own helmet in 2019 so this contract is a huge shock and was not expected.
